This is the 13th update of The Deerfield Informant and I am learning some valuable lessons. First of all, I knew it was going to be tough to sustain a 3x/week update schedule but I had no idea how tough. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying it. It's juggling the erratic freelance paywork that sneaks in and takes precedence.
I am not complaining. This just means I have to do what I was avoiding. Which is to create a buffer of issues. complete a month ahead and keep up the momentum. I really enjoyed the "draw a day and post right away" mentality. That only really works if it is a once-a-week comic. With the current frequency, I am able to control the story better by writing the scripts first rather than working off of outlines in a notebook.
